The Allied sales force at Delta Materials Handling processes orders by Extranet, online and in real-time. Accounting receives notification of the order for approval. Once approved, the Allied department automatically generates purchase orders. After reviewing the documents and making any manual adjustments, the purchase orders are approved. The system transmits the purchase orders to all vendors by email or online fax based on the vendor profile. When the order is complete, accounting is again notified to invoice the customer.
The real-time nature of the process ensures that orders are processed quickly. Like with most companies, the sales force is not centralized at one location. Utilizing an Extranet is a great solution for connecting both people and data.
